Apple Watch OS3 update is not showing up

I have the first generation apple watch.So the day that watch OS 3 was available, I tried to install it but the software update said that it is already up to date. A few days later I tried again, but nothing showed up. My phone was already updated to IOS 10 and was ready to update my watch. I checked my software update again on my apple watch app and nothing shows up. Can anyone tell me what is the problem?

•iphone 6s plus has been updated to IOS 10

•is it only for the series 2???

•do I need to take it to Apple?

•I ALSO deleted the beta software profile to see if that's the problem, but it's not.
